Louise Bailey
Louise Bailey is a PTTLS-qualified teacher with more than two decades of experience, her passion and skill for hair extensions has put her at the forefront of the industry. Having built hair extension brands and assisting other well-known hair extension brands such as Hair Dreams, Richy and Hair Club with market research, product testing, manufacturing and sourcing human hair. There is no area Louise doesn’t understand when it comes to the hair extension industry as a whole.
As the advisor to the Harrods hair salon, she played an instrumental role in launching a specialist hair extension area within the department store. She also trained their team of hairdressers in the art of hair extension application and cutting techniques, eventually implementing a marketing strategy to create a recurring revenue stream for hair extension services within the store.
She has advised many salons in the UK, and the middle east to reach their potential in the hair extension industry and has trained hundreds of students in her unique art of application and cutting techniques.
Louise currently operates one of the largest hair extension salons in the UK, the Beauty Club, with her skilled team of extensionists fitting hundreds of heads of extensions every year. Her entrepreneurial skill, creativity and business acumen has helped her become well known throughout the industry.
The Hair Extension Industry
In 2021, the global hair extension market was valued at $6.13billion. These figures are estimated to rise with an estimated 8% growth per year, which is why many venture capital investors now see the high growth potential in the hair extension industry and are keen to invest.
This high rate of growth is causing the industry to become oversaturated with unknowledgeable hair extensionists and products that are of sub-par quality to maintain high standards of work. This is why in-depth knowledge, skilled techniques and high-quality hair are crucial to separate yourself from other extensionists and become successful in a rapidly growing industry.
In Salon Hair Extension Course
Our in salon tape hair extension course is accredited by the Beauty Guild. This course includes online theory combined with in salon practical training and assessment.
Louise and her team will teach you the fundamentals of how to apply, cut, and style tape hair extensions. The practical section of the course can be booked once your online theory modules have been completed.
The practical training is a four hour course (with assessment) and is held at our Oxford Circus training academy once per month on a Sunday.
NVQ Level 2 Hair Dressing certification or equivalent. This course is also suitable for anyone who has a passion for hairdressing and that has been working in the hair extension industry for a minimum of 1 year. We will need to see evidence of your work for you to be able to sit this course. This could be an Instagram page or a website of your work etc.
Proof of qualifications will need to be brought on the day or emailed to us whilst booking your course. This prerequisite is in place so that our students get the most out of our course as it will be extremely hard to learn without basic cutting skills.
You will also be required to complete the GTI professional standards online course, which will be included in the cost of this course. The GTI professional standards online course takes between 1 – 5 hours to complete, depending on your prior experience.
Once you have purchased our in salon training course, our team will enroll you via email and give you access to the GTI course in professional standards for hairdressers within 48 hours. It covers all the essential legislation and professional ethics required for working in the hairdressing industry as specified in the National occupational standards for level 2 and 3 hairdressing.
On completion of the online GTI Professional Standards course, our team will give you access to the online tape hair extension theory manual.
You will be sent an online theory manual which you can read in your own time; once you have completed the manual, you will be assessed within our online portal, where we will track your progress before starting in the practical classroom. When you have passed the theory element of the course, you will receive a practical session code, which you will pass to Louise’s team to give you access to book your in-salon training date.

One (1) live model per student is required to facilitate our practical workshop – This is YOUR responsibility. You will not be able to complete your training without a live model.
Hair costs will not be included in the course price. We are able to supply high-quality human training hair extensions at a discounted rate for all students. The average cost for training hair is £250-£400, depending on the length and thickness your model requires. We recommend you pass this cost onto your model as they will get a heavily discounted set of hair extensions.
Criteria For Models:
– Hair Must be at least 6 inches long
– Models must not have any short layers
– Models can’t have extremely thick or thin hair
– Must be available for the full 4 hours of your in-salon training

All Trainees must arrive at 11.45 am to ensure the course can commence on time.

Please Note: Extra long Nail Extensions are not permitted on this course. You will not be permitted to take part if you have them. It is not possible to properly apply tape in hair extensions whilst wearing long false nails.

Online Tape In Hair Extension Course
Louise’s Beauty Guild-accredited online tape in hair extension course covers her unique application and cutting techniques. She takes two decades of experience in extensions and packs it into one hour of in-depth, quality information on extensions.
This online course will help develop your skills to become a fully insured hair extensionist who can cut and style tape hair extensions to the highest level in the industry, all from the comfort of your own home.
We understand that everyone learns differently which is why once you’re enrolled onto the course, it can be completed at your own pace. The course content has both theory and practical elements that will both be assessed.
Once you have booked your training course, you will enrolled via email and given access to the GTI course in professional standards for hairdressers within 48 hours. It covers all the essential legislation and professional ethics required for working in the hairdressing industry as specified in the National occupational standards for level 2 and 3 hairdressing.

The in-depth training video will help you practice on a training head block in order to master the application on a single tape. You will then book in for an assessment and catch up with Louise over zoom for 20 minutes to demonstrate that you have mastered the application of a single tape. Louise will then take you through the fundamentals of tape in extension removal during this time.
Following this, you will revert back to the video and complete a full head of tape hair extensions on a Live Model using the video and advice Louise gave you over zoom. Once this has been completed, you will have another 20-minute online assessment with Louise, where she will be looking for:
1. Clean sectioning of the hair
2. Neat application points
3. The ratio of hair to tape
4. Tape gap from the hairline
5. Positioning of the tapes
6. Blending and cutting of the extensions
On the full head application. We recommend you book your online meetings with Louise in advance for the date you are with your live model to ensure she is available. Once your assessment date is booked you will receive a confirmation email with a zoom link.
If you wish to practice and do live models before your online assessment with Louise, you can email her with pictures of your application for guidance and feedback before your assessment with her.
